April General Conference

My in-laws usually come into town for General Conference, and this last conference was no different. We are always happy to see them! Chris' Uncle Danny came into town too and both he and Chris' Dad were able to attend two sessions at the Conference Center. With Chris on crutches, he didn't want to fight the crowds and stand in line, so both he, his mom, and I stayed home to watch it on TV and to take care of the girls.

What a wonderful conference and a great chance to spend time with family. My mother-inlaw brought up a bunch of dress-ups for Ashley and she had such a great time trying them all on.

Chris wanted his mom to make her famous fried rice while she was here, so she showed me how.

Weekly Kids Playgroup

A few months back, a few of the women at church with kids the same age as mine, began talking about starting a preschool or at least a kids playgroup to get the kids together once a week. We decided to meet each Wednesday at the church to let the kids run around and play together. Every "mom" signs up for a week and brings both the activity and the snack for that week and then we rotate. The kids have done lots of fun things from games, to toys, to painting, coloring, etc. It's nice for the Moms to get together to and enjoy some adult conversation!

The Longest Six Weeks of Our Lives

Chris fractured his Tibia (leg bone) the last weekend in February as he was trying to kick start a friends motorcycle. He was on crutches for 6 weeks. This is the only picture he would let me take of him, because he told me he doesn't want to remember this experience. Well too bad, I'm bloggin' about it. It was a hard six weeks for us. It reminds me how much I rely on Chris and how much he does for me. This was a picture of him heading to the doctor for the final check up to remove the brace.

Chris Brunstetter's "Big Two-Nineski"

Our friend Chris turned 29 at the end of February and he loves to bowl. His party theme was the movie The Big Lebowski, but instead he called it the "Big Two-Nineski". Lots of our friends dressed up and we had so much fun hanging out and watching Ashley bowl for the first time. They didn't have bumper pads available for Ash, but they did have this contraption that you put up at the beginning of the lane and you push the ball down it. This keeps the ball straight as well as gives it enough momentum to get all the way down the lane.

You can't go bowling without getting french fries and onion rings!

Ashley and KoDee

It's been so fun to see Ashley grow up and make friends. Her best friend is KoDee and if Ashley could, she would see her every day. Normally KoDee and her little brother Russell will come over during the week, and Ashley will head to their house to play as well. They have a great time together. Ashley will usually wake up every morning and say "Mom, where's my KoDee and Russell?".

Last week at church KoDee and Russell headed down from their bench to sit with another family friend. Ashley threw a fit and started screaming, "My KoDee and Russell, My KoDee and Russell." She didn't want them to sit with anyone else. Chris had to take her out as everyone smiled and giggled at her for making such a scene.

The Harley Rebuild Part I

Chris has wanted to change his motorcycle from a soft-tail to a hard-tail since he bought it. He finally decided to do it. His friend Nick and Ryan came over to help him take it apart. He had to take every piece off so it was down to just the frame.

Here's the frame, ready to be shipped.
