And the Mother of the Year Award Goes to........

Melanie Brown!!!!!!!!!

Took a load of laundry out of the dryer and walked it straight upstairs and dumped it on the couch to fold. Walked immediately downstairs to put the basket away and this is what I found. I first freaked out. Then realized I should take a picture of my awful mothering!!!!!
She thought it was the greatest place to play.

I'm just glad I came straight back down.
Who knows what sister of hers could have closed the door on her and started pushing buttons.
I now make sure I close the door before heading up the stairs.

Sheesh! These kids keep me on my toes.

July 4th Festivities

We started off a wonderful July fourth weekend on Saturday, the 2nd with the South Salt Lake Parade. It's just down the street from our house so we walked the girls over to the parade to meet up with our friends, the Ahlers.

It's just a small parade, but the girls love it because all of the people in the parade throw candy and they come home with a whole bag full. We joked that it was better than Halloween because the candy comes to you, instead of having to dress up and go door to door!

And here they are fighting over the candy.

On Monday the 4th, we had a ward barbecue. Chris and I headed down early to set everything up. We had a great turn out and a wonderful time with so many people we love.

The Lundberg's were pros at the barbecue.

In every picture we have of Madison from the barbecue, she is eating watermelon.

And more watermelon.

And more....she eventually peed her pants!

Ashley had a great time running around the church lawn with her primary friends.
She has a red face to show for it.

We love our ward building.
Built in 192o, it's absolutely gorgeous, has tons of character, and so much wonderful history.

After dinner we headed out to our side yard to light some sparklers. It's actually about 8:30 pm when these pictures were taken, yet it was still so light outside. We had to do them that early since we were heading out the door to the fireworks.

Rylee's first sparkler since she was too little last year.

Madison was too scared to do them this year. She kept saying they were going to burn her.

We loaded up and headed to the Salt Lake Country Club for their firework show that started at 10 pm. We had made sure the girls got a nice, late nap so they could last until the fireworks were over.

Another wonderful 4th of July. I am so grateful for those that have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice so that we enjoy the freedom we do. I love this country.
