August Update

It has been forever since I posted so I figured it was time for an update. I have been wanting to post pictures of our Lake Powell trip with Chris' family, but I still can't find my camera cord to move them from the camera to the computer. We just got a disk from my mother-in-law that had some great pictures on it, so I am stealing their pictures to post.

The last few days of July we spent at Lake Powell with the Brown's. It was such a blast! Chris and I promised ourselves last time we were at Lake Powell, that we wouldn't go back until we had a houseboat. We knew we were getting too old to camp out on the shore. We arrived around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28th at Lake Powell after we drove all evening after work. The whole family had already arrived by the time we got there. We went to sleep and woke up the next day ready to have the Lake Powell employees teach Dad and Chris and Eli how to drive/operate the boat. Once they were done showing us we immediately took off for three days of fun!

Ashley hasn't been around water very much because we live in Utah where no one has swimming pools. I was worried she would be afraid of the water, but it was just the opposite. She is just like her daddy. Not scared of a thing! She loved swimming and would walk off the beach straight into the water, and would have kept walking until her head was under the water if we hadn't stopped her. Each time we tried to bring her in off the beach, whether it was time for lunch, or nap time, she would tell us "No way". She didn't want to stop playing. This was the first time she has had the opportunity to play on a beach before and she loved digging and filling her bucket with sand. She had the time of her life!

It was nice have a week off from work and to have a vacation as a family. With the baby coming in less than 12 weeks, we won't have another family vacation for awhile. The houseboat was absolutely amazing and super comfortable. There was plenty of room for all of us. It had air conditioning too which was a must for Chris!!

My in-laws are the best! This vacation was so much fun and the memories we made we'll never forget.

Ashley loves to sing. She found this flashlight at the back of the boat and used it as a microphone.

There was a slide off the back of the boat and everyone had a great time going down it. It was a bit of a fall from the end of the slide to the water. In the video, my niece Haylee is a little reluctant to go!
