More October Activities

As I mentioned in my last post, October was a very busy month. Not only did we have a baby, but I celebrated my 29th birthday on the 13th. I spent the day cleaning the house and getting ready to be induced the next day. My cousins watched the kids while Chris took me out to the Cheesecake Factory that evening. It was a good day.

Also while my in-laws were in town to help with the kids and to see the new baby, we baked Halloween cookies with Ashley. This was the first time she participated in actually rolling out the cookie dough.

Thursday morning, October 22nd, Chris' parents left. That afternoon we decided to take the kids to the park.

Ashley celebrated her third birthday on October 26th. We celebrated on Saturday the 24th and invited a few friends over for a "Pirate Party". When I asked Ashley a few weeks before her birthday what kind of party she wanted (ie: Princess, Dora, etc.) and she said she wanted a pirate party. We decorated with pirate balloons, streamers, and gave each child a treasure chest full of candy and treats when they left. We also got a pirate bandanna, earring, and eye patch for each child to wear. Instead of just inviting the children to the party, we invited the whole family as well.

The party started with pumpkin decorating, and each child used a pirate kit to decorate their pumpkin. We then served spaghetti for dinner which is Ashley's favorite. After dinner, instead of serving a cake, Ashley chose these spider cupcakes she saw at Albertson's. Ashley then opened presents, with the help of her friends! It was a great party and Ashley is still talking about her birthday a month later.

On October 28th Chris celebrated his 31st birthday. We didn't get to celebrate much that day because he worked and then came home and watched the kids while I attended a church meeting. He is always so supportive of me and I love him so much!

On Friday, October 30th we attended our ward's Trunk or Treat party. We had a great time eating dinner, participating in the cake walk, costume parade, and Ashley's favorite part was trick or treating at each car. On Halloween I took Ashley trick or treating while Chris and my mom stayed home with the two younger girls. This was the first year we actually trick or treated around the neighborhood.
