My new baby has just joined our family! I have wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle for awhile now. I started researching last January about safety riding classes offered in Salt Lake and found one starting in May. I then found out in late January that I was pregnant so I wasn't able to take the class this year. I'm still planning to take the class this coming Spring, but Chris wanted to spend this Winter fixing up a bike if we happened to find one, so that I could take my own bike to the safety class. We couldn't afford much for a bike, and Chris wanted to start me on a small one so it would be easy to learn on.
We found this beauty from a guy living in Draper, Utah. It's a 1981 Yamaha XS650. It needs a lot of work done to it, and as you can see from picture one to picture two below, Chris has already started working on it. We've only had it one day and he has already taken a wheel off, taken part of the exhaust off, painted the rest of the exhaust, removed the shocks (replaced with struts), and pulled the seat off. He has tons he plans to do to it.
It's going to be a fun project that we will work on together.
